Dutch Fork’s Dean Amongst the Best PG Prospects In 2019

6’4″ sophomore point guard Russell “Deuce” Dean has elevated his stock considerably over the last several months. He received his first scholarship from The Citadel on July 11, 2016 and then another from Virginia Tech on July 18, 2018. He played with the South Carolina Kings 16U team last summer and performed extremely well. Deuce has an excellent frame for a lead. He possesses big time athleticism and has the strength of players that are 2-3 years older than him.

RussellDean has improved on his perimeter shooting in the last few months. He has a good feel for the point guard position and his size enables him to see plays developing over the top of the defense. This young man takes pride in his on ball defense. He does a great job sitting down and defending much smaller guards, utilizing his length and physicality to be disruptive.

Looking ahead to this upcoming season Dutch Fork returns another big time recruit in the backcourt with Dean, 2017 shooting guard Jordan Davis who holds offers from Pitt, Georgia Tech, Va Tech, Miami and a slew of other high level programs. They also return Justin Thompson and Willie Dunbar who are both receiving heavy interest from several programs throughout the region.

Look for big things out of “Deuce” and Dutch Fork this upcoming season as well as more programs offering and getting involved in his recruitment.
